Metric BMI Formula: weight (kg) / [height (m)]2
English BMI Formula: weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703

Result of BMI Calculation
The BMI result shows whether the person is healthy, underweight, overweight or healthy. The calculation of BMI can show the following results;
- A BMI of less than 18.5 means that a person is underweight possibly malnourished. This condition can create some major health issues for you such as low immunity, irregular menstrual cycles, and fertility issues caused by this and other issues.
- A BMI of between 18.5 and 24.9 is ideal. This BMI score shows that you are in your best health condition according to body mass index.
- A BMI of between 25 and 29.9 is overweight and you need to focus on reducing your weight. Excess weight causes many diseases including heart and cardiovascular diseases.
- A BMI over 30 indicates obesity. If your BMI has reached to this stage then you need to immediately consider to your physician.
The above-given results of BMI calculation reveal that if your Body Mass Index score increases so does the fat in you. But the BMI Chart alone cannot define that you are healthy, underweight or overweight. This index has some limitation too.
